Recruiting for future years

GM Allen's quick release of significant existing talent and slo-go approach to free agency seem to indicate a long-term view towards recruitment -- with an eye toward the 2011 and 2012 playoffs, rather than this years'. Fanbase should expect more disappointment this year and hope that his choices pay off in the long-term.

Portis on the slide

It would appear so and the apparent reason is the offensive line neglected by Snyder/Cerrato. By the time they fix it, if they ever do, Portis will be 30, maybe 31? Over-the-hill for a featured back these days. Zorn's No-Win

I feel bad for Zorn. Washington's troubles never were about him, they were about the offensive line his hire ups put together. When things went bad, Zorn got the blame and now when they seem good (after a win with a strong O-Line performance) someone else gets the credit. It's a no-win, but at least in the end he can take the money and run.
